Mill Pond History: The Mill Pond area was adopted as a public park years ago. The citizens enjoyed picnicking, feeding the swans and ducks, fishing and taking part in winter activities. In 1969, the first Winter Carnival of the Town of Richmond Hill was held at Mill Pond. It featured dancing to live music, snowmobile rides, sleigh rides, hockey games and more. Every year, Mill Pond is home to Richmond Hill winter and summer Festivals.
