Newmarket has expanded north to Green Lane from Aurora and from Bathurst Street east to Highway 404. What was once mostly heritage homes in Central Newmarket and Gorham and semi-detached homes north of Davis Drive in the Bristol-London neighbourhood and Huron Heights, has blossomed into estate homes in Stonehaven-Wyndham and Copper Hills, new subdivisions with all types of homes on the west side of Yonge Street in Summerhill Estates, coveted Glenway Estates and Woodland Hill just south of East Gwillimbury. On the west side of Highway 404 grew the Newmarket Industrial Park with employment opportunities to support the continued growth of houses for real estate buyers and sellers. Once considered "too far north" the town has attracted new residents from Toronto, Richmond Hill and Aurora, and now Newmarket properties are among the most highly coveted in York Region.
