Not too many years ago King was mostly considered a rural township with land, farms and larger properties around several smaller hamlets or communities. The installation of sewers started the eruption of new homes and communities in King City, Nobleton and Schomberg. In some rural areas like Pottageville newer homes took shape on larger properties that could support septic tank systems. New subdivisions with modern luxurious designs have blossomed in King City, Schomberg and Nobleton and are attracting buyers from Toronto, Peel and York Region. Even Rural King is home to estate homes built on Nobleton Lakes Golf Course, Carrying Place Golf and Country Club and King Valley Golf Club. Today King still has a rural feeling, but with the ease of travel to the south and west via Highways 27 and 400, it has become even more attractive to local and out-of-town neighbours looking for a newer, urban lifestyle.
